- Malaysian Weaving:
This weaving technique is the top of the line, you can achieve styles
and looks such as Toni Braxton and Robin Givens. The Malaysian
weave is integrated with your hair, which means your texture and
color should match the weft commercial hair. This technique requires
no braiding. A backstitch pattern is created at the scalp part with
your hair and the thread. This is what the commercial hair is
attached to therefore allowing the added track work to lay smooth
and flat to the scalp. This finished look is virtually undetectable,
offering the versatility to accomplish various styles including updo’s.
You can also relax your hair, shampoo, condition and also swim while
wearing the Malaysian. You need 1 bundle of 12-14” yaky hair,
(Bohemian or Black Diamond) or 1 ½ bundles if the length of the hair
is 14-16”. The time for this technique is a 1/2 hour to 1 hour for
preparation, 1 hour to 1 ½ hours for sewing, and 1 hour to 1 ½
hours for cut and style. The average cost for the Malaysian Weave
starts at $400.00 and goes up to $700.00, depending on whether you
need a chemical service, cut and style, and how much track work is
needed to accomplish the desired look. This look will last for 3-6
months depending on how well you maintain it. It will require
tightening every 6-8 weeks which usually costs an additional $5.00
per track along with the service.
- Web Weaving:
This technique is a full head weave in which you can leave out your
own hair line to get the off the face effect or you can cover up all your
hair and change your hair color or texture. The Web weave is also
braid-less and undetectable. All track work is split so it does not give
the look of a wig, but a very natural look. It lasts from 2 ½-6
months and you can swim and shampoo while wearing it. Time is ½
an hour to 1 hour for preparation, an 1 hour to 1 ½ hours for sewing,
and 1/2 an hour to 1 hour for cutting and styling. The price for this
technique is $300.00 up to $450.00.
